The ProDAQ 3653 2-Ch. MIL-STD-1553B function card is a two channel 1553B communication board which is ideally suited to address the military and avionics communication markets. The Intelligent Interface Board is a Bustec standard single function card designed to meet the requirements of MIL-STD-1553B and STANAG 3838. It provides a powerful and intelligent interface to the 1553B data bus in a VXI chassis. Bus Controller and Multi-Remote Terminal functions can operate both independently or simultaneously. An additional independent Chronological Bus Monitor function is provided. This provides complete and comprehensive test and simulation functions for all applications in MIL-STD-1553B systems.

The ProDAQ 3653 is an intelligent interface card providing full MIL-STD-1553 test, simulation and bus analysis capability with 1553A, 1553B, McAir and STANAG 3838 variants in one card.

The ProDAQ 3653 function card supports concurrent Bus Controller (BC) and up to 31 Remote Terminals (RT) with Bus Monitor (BM). An additional stand-alone Chronological Bus Monitor (CBM) facility is also provided, with comprehensive multi-level triggering capability. Full error injection capability is provided in BC and RT modes, with full error detection in BC, RT, BM and CBM modes. The function card provides a dual redundant 1553 interface.

A micro-controller based structure running at 40Mhz handles the management of the 1553B protocol for each of the operating modes (BC, MRT, BM). The micro-controller works each of the 1553B command, status and data words functions of its operating mode and the configuration tables in RAM. The micro-controller management unit allows flexibility and expandability for the bus control tasks and user interface.
