Description

The ProDAQ 3081 Gigabit Ethernet VXIbus Slot-0 Interface is a highly versatile, high-performance interface designed to provide seamless access to VXIbus instruments via standard Gigabit Ethernet networks. It serves as a crucial bridge between traditional VXIbus instruments and modern computing platforms, making it ideal for engineers involved in the development, testing, and implementation of large-scale data acquisition systems.

The ProDAQ 3081 supports the VXI-11 protocol, which allows communication with instruments over Ethernet without the need for additional drivers or software installations. Engineers can easily integrate this interface into existing test systems, using a standard web browser to configure, monitor, and control the instruments via the embedded web interface. This feature simplifies system setup and management, offering intuitive access to essential device settings and VXIbus instruments.

One of the key advantages of the ProDAQ 3081 is its high-speed data transfer capability, with support for 2eVME and 2eSST block transfers, reaching speeds up to 60 MB/s. This is particularly valuable for applications requiring fast, real-time data acquisition and processing, such as aerospace, defense, and telecommunications testing environments. The interface is also backward-compatible with previous VXIbus standards (rev. 1.3 to 3.0), ensuring interoperability with legacy systems.

The ProDAQ 3081 comes in two versions:

  • 3081-AA: Standard Gigabit Ethernet VXIbus Slot-0 Interface
  • 3081-AB: Enhanced version with LXI trigger capabilities, supporting advanced trigger synchronization over multiple chassis. The optional M-LVDS trigger interface supports eight lines, allowing devices to share clock and trigger signals, making the system suitable for complex, synchronized testing environments.
